Stafford's World
Mark Stafford started his radio career as a radio pirate broadcasting locally on FM and across Europe on Short Wave for a number of radio stations! Through the 1980’s he was Station Manager of the RBL International Service broadcasting legally on FM from the French Coast to the South Coast of England.
The 1990’s saw him working on Invicta FM, Invicta Supergold and other UK commercial radio stations before moving on to put together Europe’s first Satellite Rock Radio station, EKR – European Klassik Rock.
Broadcasting from the prestigious Maidstone Studios complex in Kent, EKR boasted a very high quality line-up including radio legends such as Dave Cash and Emperor Rosko. Mark was Director Of Music for EKR and was also in charge of creating the station image and on air sound.
After the closure of EKR, Mark was invited to join the legendary Radio Caroline as Head Of Music and the man in charge of the music output and programming as Radio Caroline launched it’s own satellite delivered radio service via the Astra Satelite. Over 20 years later, Mark’s own shows still continue on Radio Caroline. Along the way, his shows have morphed into the syndicated radio show Stafford’s World. Catch the show every Friday at 3pm
